Key Responsibilities
- Provide cross-site technical authority in controls, mechanical engineering, and systems integration.
- Define, maintain, and enforce engineering standards and playbooks across design, debug, and build.
- Drive excellence in controls programming and mechanical design, ensuring both disciplines integrate seamlessly in machine builds.
- Lead customer-facing technical engagements, from design reviews through FAT/SAT, serving as the technical assurance point.
- Partner with Sales and Program Management to assess technical feasibility, scope projects accurately, and build customer confidence.
- Oversee debug and integration risk, leading structured problem-solving for complex escalations.
- Champion adoption of digital twin/simulation tools to de-risk and accelerate commissioning.
- Mentor engineering staff across disciplines, building technical depth and succession pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards in all engineering processes.
- Influence cross-functional leaders to drive adherence to standards, even without direct line authority.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering.
- 15+ years’ experience in automation/machine building, with strong exposure to life sciences/medical device projects.
- Expert-level knowledge in Controls Engineering.
- Strong Mechanical Engineering expertise.
- Proven track record leading customer-facing projects through design, debug, FAT/SAT, and validation.
- Demonstrated success managing and influencing in a matrix environment, balancing cross-site and cross-functional responsibilities.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to engage credibly with customers, sales teams, and technical staff.
- Familiarity with vision systems and industrial communication protocols.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards.
