Finance Officer

    About the Role

    We are seeking a Finance Officer to join a not-for-profit organisation on a short-term contract. This role is central to ensuring smooth financial operations and supporting the organisation’s mission.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate weekly and monthly creditors, travel, and subsistence claims.
    • Maintain accurate filing of financial records and ensure GDPR-compliant backups.
    • Reconcile monthly bank accounts, clearing all reconciling items.
    • Manage weekly/monthly petty cash reconciliations.
    • Reconcile company visa, Soldo, and bank card transactions monthly.
    • Assist with monthly payroll for all staff.
    • Support the preparation of monthly Management Accounts.
    • Contribute to Year-End Accounts, including reconciliation of deferred income, receivables, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
    • Assist in preparing financial returns for funding bodies.
    • Support funding proposals and other reporting requirements.
    • Assist with the implementation of the new Auto-Enrolment Pension Fund.
    • Carry out any other duties consistent with the role of Finance Officer.
