An excellent opportunity has arisen for an entry-level Payroll Assistant to join a supportive and high-performing payroll team within a leading professional services environment.
This role offers hands-on experience across a diverse client base, providing the chance to learn from experienced payroll professionals and build a strong foundation in payroll processing, compliance, and client support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of client payrolls
- Ensure payroll data is accurate and submitted within deadlines
- Maintain employee payroll records and support with payroll reconciliations
- Respond to payroll queries and escalate issues where required
- Support in the preparation of standard payroll reports
- Learn to use payroll software and tools (e.g. Excel, Quantum/QPOSS)
- Work closely with team members to deliver a high level of client service
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to internal controls and best practices
- Keep up to date with payroll legislation and Revenue guidelines
Skills & Experience
- 0-2 years of experience in payroll, finance, or a related field (internship or part-time experience welcome)
- Genuine interest in building a career in payroll
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Professional and discreet when handling sensitive information
Qualifications
- IPASS qualification (or willingness to pursue) is an advantage but not essential
