Payroll Specialist

    Salary: €45,000 – €55,000 per year

    About the Role:

    As Payroll Specialist, you will be working alongside the payroll team. You’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations in collaboration with an external payroll provider, ensuring seamless delivery across monthly payroll cycles for approximately 800+ employees.

    This role demands a high level of accuracy, autonomy, and communication, with a strong emphasis on audit readiness and pension scheme administration. You’ll also contribute to broader initiatives, including compensation frameworks and employee benefits.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and validate monthly and quarterly payroll data for submission to an outsourced provider
    • Ensure all payments, deductions, and statutory returns are accurate and compliant
    • Liaise with external payroll partners to verify calculations and resolve queries within tight timelines
    • Respond to employee enquiries related to payroll, pensions, and benefits (e.g., travel cards, healthcare)
    • Support pension scheme operations including reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
    • Process payroll-related invoices and manage employee setup in HR systems
    • Deliver payroll and benefits guidance during employee onboarding
    • Maintain and update payroll procedures and documentation

    About you:

    • IPASS qualification (or equivalent)
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll processing, ideally within a large organisation
    • Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation, tax, PRSI, and pension schemes
    • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers and managing vendor relationships
    • High attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure
    • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
    • Familiarity with HRIS systems and a high level of systems literacy
