On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a two-year FTC with the possibility of extension.
This is both a strategic and hands-on position, requiring close collaboration with senior leadership to enhance financial performance, ensure compliance, and improve reporting systems.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, forecasts, and performance reports. Provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, offering practical recommendations to management.
- Lead the month-end process, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Support preparation and submission of funding applications or reports, as applicable.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies. Ensure timely delivery of accurate financial data and maintain compliance with relevant standards.
- Work with internal departments to identify reporting needs, provide meaningful KPIs, and create clear financial presentations.
- Liaise with external providers overseeing payroll, tax compliance, AP.
- Ensure compliance with relevant procurement or purchasing guidelines.
- Lead or support initiatives to improve financial systems, controls, and efficiency.
- Maintain adherence to ethical and operational standards across all finance-related activities.
Requirements:
- Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a senior finance or accounting role
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
